To make use of a pay-as-you-go mobile you would first need to purchase a USB modem dongle. Once you have this you can ‘top up’ your dongle with credits. These generally come in increments of around 1GB, 3GB and 7GB and range from around £10 to £25.        A Mobile Broadband modem is often including free in a Mobile Broadband package from most service networks for a contact of 12 months or longer. Speeds are typically 2Mbps, which is fast enough for most applications, but speeds of up to 8Mbps are possible on some Mobile Broadband networks at a premium price.
